Pharmacogenomics (PGx)
The right medication. The right dose. The first time.
Did you know your genes influence how your body processes medications? What works well for one person may be ineffective or even harmful for another. Pharmacogenomics takes the guesswork out of prescribing by revealing how your unique genetic makeup affects your response to drugs.

Our pharmacogenomics service helps you and your healthcare providers make smarter, safer medication decisions. We analyze the genetic variants tied to drug metabolism, effectiveness, and risk of adverse reactions, then translate those results into clear, actionable guidance your medical team can use right away. All of this happens through telehealth, with no referral and no waitlist.

Whether you are managing a chronic condition, exploring new treatments, or simply want to be prepared, understanding your pharmacogenomic profile means fewer trial-and-error prescriptions, a lower risk of side effects, and treatments that are truly tailored to you.

You might be a fit if
-
You have tried medications that did not work, or that caused side effects you did not expect
-
You take several medications and want to understand how they fit your biology
-
You are starting a medication known to interact with certain genes, such as some antidepressants, blood thinners, or pain medications
-
You have had an unusual or severe reaction to a medication or to anesthesia
-
A close relative has had serious medication reactions
-
You are managing a chronic condition and want to reduce trial and error
-
You simply want your pharmacogenomic profile on hand before you ever need it
-
You have any question about how your genes might affect a medication you take or may be prescribed

What working with us looks like
We begin by reviewing your current medications, any past reactions, and your health history. We coordinate a pharmacogenomic test, usually a simple cheek swab you can do at home, and interpret your results using established clinical guidelines from sources like CPIC and the FDA. You receive a clear written report explaining which medications are likely to work as expected, which may need a different dose, and which are worth avoiding, along with guidance your prescriber can act on. If it helps, we can walk your care team through the findings directly.

A test you take only once
Your genes do not change. That means a pharmacogenomic profile is something you complete one time and can draw on for the rest of your life, every time a new prescription comes up, for you and often for conversations with your family about theirs.

What your results can and cannot tell you
Pharmacogenomics is a powerful guide, not a rulebook. Your results explain how your body is likely to process many medications, but they are one important input alongside your prescriber's judgment, your other conditions, and the rest of your medications. Testing does not cover every drug, and it does not replace your doctor. Please never start, stop, or change a medication based on your results alone. Bring them to your prescriber, and we will help you both understand what they mean.

Telehealth from the comfort of home, with no referral required
-
Already have pharmacogenomic results from another source? We can interpret those too

Common questions
Do I need to repeat the test over time?
No. Your genotype is stable for life, so pharmacogenomic results are yours to keep and reuse every time a new medication comes up. You complete the test once.

Will my doctor actually use the results?
We provide a clear report built on established clinical guidelines that your prescriber can apply directly, and we are glad to walk your care team through it. Final prescribing decisions always rest with your doctor, and the report is designed to support exactly that conversation.

Does insurance cover pharmacogenomic testing?
Coverage varies, and pharmacogenomic testing is often paid out of pocket. We explain your options and what to expect on cost before anything is ordered, so there are no surprises.

Take control of your treatment journey
Your genes are already shaping how medications work in your body. Now you can use that information to your advantage. Book a free 10-minute discovery call if you are not sure where to start, or schedule your pharmacogenomics consultation and we will take it from there.
