Genetic counseling fees

• Empower Genetics is a direct-pay practice. We do not bill insurance for genetic counseling sessions.

• Session fees are shown when you book. After your visit, we will send you an invoice, which is due within 2 weeks.

• A follow-up visit to review your results is included in your fee at no extra charge.

• We accept HSA and FSA cards.

• Payment plans are available. To set one up, email info@empowergeneticshealth.com.

Insurance reimbursement for your session

If you would like to seek reimbursement from your insurance, we can provide a superbill, which is an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance company. Empower Genetics cannot guarantee that your insurance will reimburse you.

Genetic testing costs

Genetic testing is billed separately by the testing lab, not by Empower Genetics. If you would like the lab to bill your insurance, we will send you a separate, optional form to share your insurance information with the lab.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of your genetic counseling services. Because you are paying directly, you can ask us for a Good Faith Estimate before your visit. If your bill is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Cancellations and missed visits

• Please let us know at least 24 hours before your visit if you need to cancel or reschedule. There is no charge to cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice.

• Visits canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, will be charged 50% of the session fee. Your genetic counselor spends time before each visit reviewing your intake forms, records, and test results.

• If an emergency comes up within 24 hours of your visit, please contact us as soon as possible so we can talk about your situation.
